Of stories and dragons
When
pensnest opened the Dragon Challenge, I signed in. I was thrilled and well, I started my story. But heck, May sucked. I'd a plan for the story, I started thinking it over and over, and I'd even asked for opinions; but I started having difficult situations at work ('coz I can't really call them problems), Dona's passing, and many other stuff happening in rl, that the time I found to write was very limited.
I fell in love with the story I'm writing. Yes, still writing, because it's not finished yet. *blush*
I tried to focus on writing, but I'm hyperactive, what can I do?! but it just didn't work. My mind was somewhere else most of the time, and I had loads of work to do. I started writing it, and had a plan to do it, but it just didn't work out. If it wasn't work, it was home and I just couldn't do it on time.
So, I stared "Tales of Light and Darkness" and since the very beginning it was all about fantasy and old times, and Chris was my only option for the dwarf, then I added Howie; but it was a fact that it was going to be about JC and AJ. I don't know what else to say about the story itself, I mean, I can't be very objective, 'coz since I started it, I fell for it. I haven't been so into a story in months! it was then that i realised it was going to be a long one.
I love the story, I've learnt a lot from it and God! I even have this friend who's been sending me letter with things like "I want more of my healer and my dragon slayer!" yeah, a rl friend saying those things ^___^
I do have to say that I have to thank whole heartedly to
muinteor who corrected me always, gave me suggestions, made me do things I was afraid to do, encourages me and don't let me stop writing. To
milosflaca, for all the support, and for saying the right words when I needed them, for understanding things I don't think other people could, and for pretty much, always been there, to
bellamyrose, because you literally saved my life that night. I was blue, completely down and your words lifted me up; for your honesty and your kindness;
zelha, man! you're right! fucked up is that despite you not liking yaoi, you are still willing to read my stuff and what's more, like it; you're one of a kind, dragoness; last but not least to
pensnest you're patience is endless, seriously. You held my hand and gave me advice and showed me some light.
These guys have put up with my fears and my tantrums and have helped me a lot. Your support was invaluable, and I thank you (once again) for that.
Also, my thanks to:
Whoever else who read the story and liked it.
The people I knew of, who said nice things about it, though not to me. (but I was told anyways ^^)
You who read it, didn't like and couldn't say anything constructive for me to learn from it, thank you. You've taught me a lot with your lack of words.
Anyways, I know there's more to say about this, but I've lost the words...I've hosted the story on my popslash site. I sat last night and re-read parts three and four, and after checking
muinteor's corrections, they're all clean and better now (oh yes, if anything is good in a story of mine, is because of him). Here's the link to the first part, Light.
The story might change as I keep on writing it, since Joe and I are going to sit and review it soon. In the midtime, I'm going to continue it.
Also, speaking of the challenge, and
muinteor. He wrote The Blatant Dragon a Joey x JC story (not used to names, don't know if the pairing has one, and still put the seme before the uke. Of this I blame the anime fandoms ^^U), and I'm like WOW. I so love the way my friend writes. And check the names of the Dwarves. That's like one of the best parts of the whole story *winks*
