Drabble II
Another drabble...(another one was supposed to be here, but I left it at Coombo, so it will take me 'till tomorrow to upload it *blush*)
I love you, Mo Cara.
For:
muinteoir
Series: The Vampire Chronicles
Charas: Pandora and Marius
Line: "Will you forgive me before the last star dies?"
Warning: Spoilers. If you haven't read the Chronicles or haven't read as far as "Blood and Gold" enter under your own risk.
I always take my victims’ hearts when I feed off them. I love the sensation of it squeezed in my hand while I suck the blood from it, just as if it were a sweet mango. The blood running down my throat makes the whole composition memorable and I cherish that greatly. It brings me memories of the time I lived in Antioch. I can still remember the sun on my face, then the darkness that fell upon me. I will always keep in my heart his lips opening my throat wide open while he thrusted inside of me, then I would bite him as well
I can’t help the thoughts. I don’t want to. We are there again; the two of us together in the cold yet warm room he’d built for our rest; there, we were covered from the sun and the moon. Not even the Great King and Queen could have seen us. We, feeding off each other, off our bodies, off our souls. Until the day he abandoned me.
Blood always brings Marius back to me.
The moon is still bright here in Maharet’s hidden place, who has been taken care of Thorne all this time. I envy the union that exists between Maharet and Thorne. Despite so many centuries, it has proven to have been stronger than time and distance. It has been a good idea to remain here after all; Armand, Marius, and I have decided to stay by their side. Mekare respects them and has become used to seeing us around..
I love this place. Here, hidden in the middle of the jungle—it’s so wonderful to be near a place I’ve called home for so many years—same place where I’ve been called ‘goddess’ and offerings have been presented to me. It’s thrilling to breathe deep and feel the forest surrounding me.
“I thought you might be here.”
“And I thought you’d never come.”
I close my eyes and allow myself to feel his closeness. His scent reaches my nostrils and I know where he is; his mind being closed to me. It seems like it’s going to rain tonight—again. His arms are now wrapped around my waist and his breath feels warm hitting my neck. Everything has changed since Thorne has avenged him by killing Santino.
Oh Marius—my beloved Marius who I’ve loved since a time in which I wasn’t Pandora, but
“Will you forgive me before the last star dies?”
I smile when he says those words with such cadence. His sweet voice, which I’ve longed to hear for centuries so close to my ears. My hands look for his and take them. We two, Marius and Pandora, Children of the Millennia walk together once again—to hide from the others’ eyes, in the darkness of a room. Mine.
I wonder, will he ever know I have nothing to forgive him?

This is this first time I've responded to a drabble written by someone else at my request.
When you posted your request for us to suggest characters and a phrase for a drabble, I happily responded, and you have exceeded all my expectations.
Pandora is wonderful, and that last question...what a perfect drabble.
Thank you so much.
