Earthquake in Chile

My thoughts and prayers are now with the people in Chile. It was an 8.8 earthquake and the images in the news are devastating.

Now, to my Chilean friends, please let us know how you're doing, please.  Do it as soon as you can and let us know how we can help.

*hugs*

Ojalá que tod@s estén bien.

Digan algo, por favor... que queremos saber.

Aquí nos pasaron los noticieros de allí, para que supiésemos de primera mano. Que angustia, joder, y lo peor es no poder hacer nada.

Ariii! I'm alive and well. A bit shaken up (pun not intended) but overall okay. My family and friends are mostly fine, though I'm still trying to contact everyone. Our house withstood the quake quite well, so we only had to pick up the things that fell off the shelves.

:) Thank you for worrying about us.

I'm here, reporting! Family and friends I've contacted are all safe and sound, so I'm calm. The quake was quite strong, but the epicenter was to the south (VII region if I'm correct, while I live on the V), so our province resisted relatively well. My home is 100% fine. Because stuff fell of the shelves, some glass decorations and such broke, but that was all.

Even if at first I was quite shaken and later I couldn't sleep much thanks to the aftershocks, now I'm just glad to be hearing from people I know that they're all fine. We were without electricity from the moment the quake struck and during the day we didn't have water either. Everything was restored like an hour ago, so just now I'm catching up with the news and hearing about the rest of the country.

I'll try to write a bit more on my LJ. Thank you so much for worrying. *hugs tight*
