Last Weekend

It was a fine weekend.  it's strange being here now, after having planned the whole post in my head.  Now, I've no idea on what to say, well, here it goes.

On Saturday my Ss did terrible on their tests.  I expected them to do better than in the previous one, but it didn't happen.  After that, they were asking for another one.  Well, they'll have it.  I'm interested in them learning; not filling the groups of the quiters to learning English. In the evening, I had an invittion for a party.  It was an ex-coworker's daughter's 15th b-day party.  I have to admit it; I didn't want to go, but I had so much fun!   HAHAHHAH   I danced and sang and had a great time with some people from work and others.   God...it was great

On Sunday, I didn't do much.  I went to do the shopping (for the next two weeks)and when I return, Vampir sat and watched the final of the Colombian Soccer Tournament.  Our team  (I'm saying ours because it was a Paisa team) won.  So he went with his mum to celebrate.  I stayed here  ^^  My friend Aury opened a new forum Hyocam and I'm really excited about that.  Dunno why, really; but I am.

About my Vamps forum, I decided to open it in mi@ so, here it is  Luna Oscura. I've uploaded more info there and I guess by the end of the week it'll be ready to begin.  Of course,  my Flist is all invited to play there. Warning:  The forum is in Spanish.

(But I'm planning another one in English, muajajajajaja; maybe a StS one...I wonder if people would play, anyway)

I guess I'm going to bed now.

You are such a good teacher! I wish more teachers were more focused on having their students truly learn.

A StS RP? Wow I'm not one to RP but if it's StS... I'd think about it seriously.

Not everybody thinks I'm a good teacher, you know? Most of my Ss say I'm too tough with them. Some have even complained that I demand from them more than they can actually give. Well...shit happens.

I guess I'll open the forum. I'll let you all know; maybe you'd feel like it and play ^^

That is the kind of opinion I dislike so much. It's so... mediocre! I don't know, it just irks me. And to think a majority of the students will use such a cheap excuse for their poor performance. *Sigh*

I'll be waiting, then. ^^ Take your time, there's no rush though.

Eek about the students. ^^;Well, they deserved getting more exams!*lol*

As for a StS forum, I'm on the same opinion than [livejournal.com profile] undertheice, I suck at RPGing, but if it's StS, I might get a look...*is curious* Sagaaa...*drools* (*still sucks at RPGing* ^^; *lol*)

I felt so sorry for them. Poor them, really. Hopefully next Saturday they'll do better.

I'll get the story and everthing ready for the rpg game, and post it here. I'm not asking people to be great ar RPGing, I'm not good at it either...*sigh* I just think it'd be a nice thing to share with my friends and people I care about....anyway

There's also the time factor, but if I find enough time, I'll definitely check it out. :D *bounces*

I'm glad you had a nice weekend! :D And congrats for being such a nice teacher. I wouldn't be that patient, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure if I would play on another RPG. I think I have enough playing with Mu in Aurea's RPG, hehehe. Which reminds me I must check out the forum! See how irresponsible I am? And I only have one character! @_@; *is ashamed*

Tengo la paciencia del Santo Job, they say. I don't know..

Playing or not at the RPG is up to anyone. I don't even know in how many rpg's I a just because of my friends, hehehehe. I only try to have some fun and forget my bad mood.

*sigh*

Sorry for taking so long to reply here, but the last couple of days have been end of course (no excuse, I know), but now I am a free man. So here are my words.

You really are a good teacher, you know? You're thinking about a third test... and I know you're a tough teacher too... we've talked shop in the past.

That balance, which you maintain between tough and gentle, is the best way to keep students interested...

I mean, no one wants drop-outs. But that's what happens when frustration sets in. How many people have given up in something or other because the teacher didn't put that extra "something"...?

I try to be a good teacher, and I recognise my failures alongside my triumphs (Jeremy reminded me of them yesterday too), but I also recognise when someone else is doing a good job... and you are.

A la tercera va la vencida... as they say in this part of the world. Take a deep breath. The most important thing is that they learn. But you can't take a magic wand and give them knowledge... they have to learn.

Glad to hear about the football, local wins mean a feelgood feeling in the neighbourhood. I love it when our local team Real Sporting de Gijón wins, everyone's friendlier over morning coffee.

About shopping... two weeks shopping? I can barely shop for tomorrow...

About the vampire forum... it looks truly wonderful... can't wait to sink my fangs into that game. Pencil sharpener ready to sharpen fangs.

Spanish is cool. I'll be there. I hope you like my character... Golodhros, the necromancer...

English is cool too. That StS game will be so amazing... I can hardly wait.

Well, nothing more from me for now.

All my love.

Hope you slept well.

Be seeing you!

Me a magnanimous teacher???

Ask my ss and they will totally disagree...anyhow.

[identity profile] muinteor.livejournal.com 2005-07-01 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I would give them a little time...

Students tend to respect teachers when we have become ex-teachers...

I see you as a very just person... maybe some of them don't see you that way yet, but when they do, they'll realise that you are the best English teacher they've had in their lives.
