it's funny how I'd told myself I wasn't going to do this but ended up doing it anyways-.

I've liked boy bands since English got into my life many, many years ago. I used to share my love for NKOTB, my infatuation with Jordan and the marvellous fascination I had with Donnie, with my undying love for Bon Jovi and Poison XD

Those were good times, and I was a pre-teen.

There was this habit in the city's newspapers in which they'd publish a song every Friday, and the song would have its translation, and of course, that's how I got to learn all the NKOTB songs.

I'm still a big fan of them, and hated when only the Knight brothers agreed on meeting the other guys for that VH1 program.

Anyways, I had this childhood friend who used to spend her time with me singing (yeah, and b/c of that it rained a lot), and commenting the songs. She was the one who got me into story-telling 'coz we used to tell each other stories regarding the boys. Hehehehe, no slash at that time, but lots of stories.

They disbanded, and the other guys appeared. *Nsync, and the Backstreet Boys. I was already teaching English, though I was only 20, and it was funny how I was the cool teacher and sat with my students to talk about them, help them translate their songs, and all that jazz. My students used to love me because of that, and I only used them to enjoy whatever was happening back then. But well, the NKOTB weren't around anymore, and I was more into rock and stuff, so I did listen to them, but was paying more attention to other things.

My bf back then (now Hubby) used to laugh a lot at me because of those contradictory feelings. It was like I really do like them, but at the same time, they're not the other ones. Sorry, I'm a hermit and love good old things.

However, it was also because of my husband that I finally fell into them. There was a period of time in which we split and after a few months, when we got back together, one of the first songs we listened to together was "I want it that way" by BSB, then later it was "This I promise You" by *Nsync. He always laughed at me 'coz I heard the songs for the first time and by the end of them, I already knew the chorus and was singing it.

Vamp has never been into music like I have, but we waited every night to watch MTV latin america and see the top 10 and see the videos over and over. He'll never admit that, but I know he did it b/c of me. Somehow, at least to me, these two songs helped us bond again. Then we got married and well, I kept track on them with whatever little thing I watched. He even bought me the "Millennium" album. I don't know why I didn't want to buy the *Nsync album, though I remember I held it for a while. I guess my love for the BSB was stronger back then. We even called them (and still do) the Pichi-boys. That's how he knows what I'm listening to; Vamp never knows what I'm going to listen to.

My favourite in BSB had always been Kevin (though he's not "there" anymore) and in *Nsync Joey. I loved the stuff they used to do to their hair, hehehe.

Then I kept listening to them as much as I could, but got into other stuff, and got to fall back for them last year when two good friends introduced me to Popslash. They told me so much about it and the guys, that it was as if I'd never stopped reading about them, or listening to their songs. I wrote my first story after a week "in" the fandom, and three weeks later, hubby got me "Never Gone" as a bday present. AJ and JC got to join my favourite (though I liked them after Kevin and Joey from before, there's no difference btw them for me now). And here I am... still in the fandom (or so I think) and still listening to them and writing. I just ordered like six cd's from Amazon: the greatest hits, some *Nsync, Black and Blue and JC's Schizo.

Anyways...
