Well, there's this forum where I've uploaded my non-yaoi fics. Why is that?? Well, I've discovered how sensitive can people be when it comes to things they don't like a.k.a don't understand. Anyway, today I received notification that someone had responded to my post (a post where I've uploaded my non yaoi Spanish drabblers) Imagine my surprise when in the signature of the one who posted I found this:

[info]antiyaoi

I just made me laugh their arguments for not liking yaoi (Which I personally think are completely valid and respectable). I know it would also make me laugh my reasons or other's for liking it. What can I say? I mean, everyone's free to speak as they wish. It's just fun that the people who like yaoi are "attacked" by things like this. I wonder what would the people who do like yaoi say of all this.

Anyway, I like both things. I have no problems with ether of them. I'm just here, sitting while I write this wondering, where's the tolerance to the difference?

Just read some comments at that comm. Seems some of them are against rabid yaoi fangirls who give a damn about characterization and all they want to read is about their favorite male charas having sex. Nonetheless, I'm sure that inside that comm there are also insane anti-yaoi fans who hate anything that has to do with m/m fanwork.

Extremes are bad and will always be. In both cases, if someone doesn't like something, why don't they turn their back peacefully without making fuss about it, I wonder?

And now I really need to stop checking lj and finish what I need to do! *shoots herself*

I know!

Extremes are not good. We both know it, inside any community, whether it's yaoi or non yaoi; there are always those who take it to the edge of everything. I've felt "pena ajena" ust to see some girls behaviour just because they like it or don't like it. That's what I don't agree with.

Yes, people should turn their backs and let the others be, but...it seems things like that are not likely to happen. In either case.

*nods and points to comment below* Yeah, that their behavior makes me feel ashamed.

Good luck with the reunion! ^^/

Not sure if my position was clear here, but I'm also against that kind of insane fangirls. Well, they're free to do whatever they want and I really don't mind, as long as they're away from me. Really AWAY.

It was clear, really. That's why I said that about feeling ashamed for others...people should see what they do in a more objective way. I'm not against anyone. People can do with their lives as they pleased. This community only made me wonder about tolerance and stuff like that.

Some people are insane, some others aren't. But then again, I also think some of those rabid fangirls take it all to extremes. I've even said it to a couple of friends, these girls need to get a life or get laid every now and then so they can think about other stuff adn have a "normal" life. A more sane way of thinking.

It's just that I read your 11:55 comment after I posted my 11:58 comment. ^^; Which reminds me I still don't get how LJ sets the hour for the comments.

*rolls on the floor laughing* They should get a life indeed. ^^

Yes, sometimes there are good stories...some others...God... You're right, everyone can think what they want, in a perfect world, which this one is not....

XDDDDD
Extreme positions are bad no matter to which point they lead...It's ok if there are people who don't like yaoi,it's ok if there are people who love yaoi...the problem is with people who care that much for yaoi or for non-yaoi , just read that comment at that comm of a guy saying his girlfriend left him 'cos of yaoi!!! that made me go kinda @___@''''..."be it yaoi or me" kinda thing... heck, people are weird sometimes...
I think respect is the crucial word... everyone's is entitled to his/her own tastes as long as doesn't want to impose by force that taste on someone else...dunno...

I was also like that when I read about his girlfriend dumping him and choosing yaoi instead, he must feel so miserable that I sorta understand him...poor thing.

Yes, respect is the crucial word...which is so hard for me to see there...I haven't read anything yet by any yaoi fangirls against nonyaoi people...so far, I wouldn't be stranged to see it sometime soon. I guess some people might hacve said something already, again, where's the tolerance to difference?

Yeah, well, I read some of the comments over there on the antiyaoi community. Sounds like a bunch of cranks to me. I'm sure there are anti-RPG communities, anti-Harry Potter communities, I'm sure there are even anti-vegetarian communities. Now it's all very well that a group of people with similar likes or dislikes get together and rant and rave about whatever it is they want to rant and rave about.

I could understand it if they were anti-corruption, anti-globalization, anti-big business, anti-world polllution, or anti-terorism.

But they might as well be anti-Simpsons, anti-goldfish, or anti-vampires.

I read about the guy who's girl friend left him when he demanded she choose between yaoi and him. I reckon if that girl had been a poetry writer, and he'd made the ultimatum "Poetry or me" and she chose poetry, he'd be in an anti-poetry community.

Well, let me just say one more thing. It's all very well a group of people getting together and bad-mouthing a group of people they don't like. They have that right.

This thing reminds me of the demonstration in Madrid last month, the Church and the PP got thousands of people to march in the centre of Madrid to protest against homosexual marriages. I mean... That was the first time I saw a massive demonstration with such a baseless message.

Homosexuals can now marry here in Spain, which is a social advance, and not the end of the world, which is what the Church is currently preaching.

So let the cranks have their say. If it makes them happy.

I personally find positive group interaction to be more gratifying than griping and complaining.

It's that group instinct thing that brings out the worst in people.

That's the end of my rant, keep writing, yaoi or non-yaoi, whatever and however you want.

Well,

It is nice to express our opinions, but hell... Think first WHERE, WHEN and HOW... Come on, you're not going to say "I HATE YAOI" in a Yaoi-Lovers community... I think that's nonsense. And the same goes for ALL communities...

We all have a BIG amount of diferent tastes, but that does NOT MEAN you're going to attack others. You might as well turn your back and go away. That's the wisest thing to do, no? Otherwise u_u as I like to say, they'll end up being a "nuisance"
